ION Computer Systems® Tillamook Receives Intel ® Cluster Ready Certification
Full Support for Intel® Xeon® Processor 5500 Series Delivers Better Performance and Efficiency.
Hauppauge, New York - ION Computer Systems, Inc. today announced it has completed Intel® Cluster Ready Certification for the first of its new Tillamook series of high performance computing clusters. The Intel® Cluster Ready certification includes the Tillamook series based on ION’s new U10 1U compute nodes. The U10 1U nodes feature the Intel S5520UR serverboard, which supports a wide range of the Intel® Xeon® processor 5500. The Intel Cluster Ready certification ensures each Tillamook cluster is delivered in a validated, ready-to-run configuration and offers compatibility with a wide range of packaged software. Certification was achieved using Platform Computing’s Open Cluster Stack (OCS) 5 cluster management software. The Tillamook Cluster also benefits from the many technologies introduced by Intel with these new processors. The Intel Xeon processor 5500 series can automatically increase processor frequency when needed and reduce idle power consumption.
