Platform and SGI

SGI Case Study - Cosmo Grid Platform Case Study - U.S. Navy Platform and SGI have been in partnership for more than eight years to provide integrated HPC and grid computing solutions to customers around the world. Platform LSF is an instrumental part of SGI’s approach to providing effective high-performance, parallel computing. Fully optimized for SGI platforms running the IRIX® and Linux® operating system, Platform LSF gives customers effective workload distribution and job scheduling across heterogeneous networks. The principal differentiator of Platform LSF on Altix is Platform LSF’s topology aware scheduler. The scheduler can be configured to create topologically optimal CPU sets for each job, guaranteeing optimized performance and repeatable run times. In the future, CSC, SGI and Platform will bring innovative new grid solutions that integrate data, compute and collaborative visualization resources. Platform Open Cluster Stack (OCS) provides customers a comprehensive toolkit that simplifies the deployment and management of large-scale Linux clusters. A hybrid software stack featuring a blend of open source software technologies and proprietary products, Platform OCS is a commercially supported, pre-integrated solution for the SGI Alix 350.
