The 451 Group, a leading analyst group, and Platform Computing will host an information session targeting a select group of hedge funds and asset managers. The one hour session this Thursday, April 29th will address how changes in U.S. and European regulations will affect IT and risk within the alternative investment industry.
US and the European Union (EU) legislators have proposed stricter regulations of alternative investment funds. Europe’s Alternative Investment Fund Managers directive is controversial and the Obama regulations are not yet confirmed. While there are cross-border disagreements on the reforms’ key points, the intent of both are similar. Legislators’ concerns that the systemic risk posed by alternative investment funds are too high will result in laws on operating transparency, risk management practices, leverage ratios, and custodial standards.
If you are head of risk management, IT, or development, please join John Barr, Research Director at the 451 Group and David Warm, CTO at Platform Computing as they will address some of the following questions during this 1 hour session:
- How should funds respond to proposed EU and U.S. regulations?
- Are there best practices to be learned from the past?
- How can technologies like Complex Event Processing, Grid, and Cloud enable funds to profitably respond to predicted and unpredicted market forces?
