It was an eventful and strong year for Platform Computing with continued customer growth and improved recognition as a leader in clusters, grids and cloud management software. 2009 will be remembered as Platform Computing’s entrance into cloud computing and the mainstreaming of our HPC solutions with our partners.

While cloud computing is technically an evolution, it promises profound, even revolutionary, changes for the delivery of IT services over the next few years. Similarly, as the HPC continues to mature, the line between enterprise and HPC continues to blur as BI (enterprise analytics) and Web 2.0 applications are deployed on shared compute platforms.

In 2009, Platform Computing:

• Entered the cloud computing market with the introduction of Platform ISF, our dynamic IT solution for enterprises to build and run their private clouds. Platform ISF free trial!
• Acquired HP MPI and rebranded it as Platform MPI 7
• Released several significant products including:
  • Platform Symphony 5
  • Platform Application Center
  • Platform LSF 7 Update 6
  • Platform Cluster Manager
  • Platform HPC Workgroup Manager
  • Platform ISF Adaptive Cluster
• Refreshed its brand image to better reflect our identity and our open, smart, and solid brand values.
