We are currently looking for 1 individual to fill the role of CHANNEL SYSTEM ENGINEER (TP).

The Job Role

This position involves supporting the activities of the Business Development team in driving and enabling our Strategic Partners in EMEA. This will involve installing, configuring and testing of our HPC Cluster Software onto test and production HPC Clusters for Platform Partners and End User Customers. In addition, you will provide technical support to our Strategic Partners in their sale and deployment of Platform based solutions. Full training in Platform’s HPC Products will be provided by Platform Computing.

The role will involve an amount of travel to sites around Europe and will provide ample opportunity to develop your skills and to use your initiative. You will have the opportunity to work with the leading hardware manufacturers such as Dell, HP, IBM, Bull, Cray, and others, Operating Systems from MS, Red Hat, Suse and others, and high speed interconnects from the leading Infiniband vendors such as Q-Logic, Voltaire and Mellanox.


Description

•  Work closely with Strategic Alliances Manager to train and develop Platform Partner technical capabilities, to carry out deployments of Platform Software on behalf of Platform Partners

• To provide product and pre sales support to Partners working on end user sales engagements and RFPs,

• To present Platform Product Roadmaps to Partner Sales and technical Teams.

• To provide Technical Product Demonstrations and carry out Proof of Concept deployments to Partners and/or End User Customers on behalf of Platform Partners.

• Establish working relationships with key Sales and Technical Staff within the Partner organizations, assisting them to effectively integrate Platform technology into their HPC Solutions.

• Maintain a strong understanding of competitive products and industry/market trends.

• Take ownership of all technical aspects of the Partner Account relationship.

• To work with the Partner and Partner’s end user customers to determine and agree Statement of Works documents as part of the deployment of Platform products on behalf of the Partner.

• To design, plan and implement HPC Solutions based on Platform products, including installation of Applications and Tools in order to deliver fully working systems to end user customers.

The position of Channel Systems Engineer in Platform Computing is a challenging position requiring strong system infrastructure and domain/application knowledge as well as solutions delivery skills.

Requirements

Strong Linux and HPC Skills:
You should be very familiar with the major Linux Operating Systems including Red Hat Enterprise and Suse Linux Enterprise Server. Knowledge of Windows HPC Server, CentOS and Scientific Linux would be an advantage. Strong technical knowledge and experience of HPC Environments, including installing and configuring bare metal systems to full operation, including provisioning tools, libraries, workload managers and common HPC applications. The ability to write scripts and troubleshoot system configurations would be necessary.

Server and Network hardware experience:
You will be working with a range of x86 hardware from the world’s leading manufacturers. Experience of one or more vendors’ Server hardware and Interconnect hardware would be highly desirable.

Customer facing skills:
You will spend time at partner sites, and your tasks will include presenting to, and providing technical training to technical staff at our major vendor partners. You will support Platform’s activities at trade shows and events. You will also be installing systems at partner sites and end user sites on behalf of our partners, and so strong customer service skills, and a can do attitude is a must. Good oral and written communications skills, along with the ability to deliver professional presentations and demonstrations are required.

Project Management skills:
As part of deploying systems to end user customers, you will co-ordinate the delivery and deployment of Platform software as part of a partner solution. This will involve co-ordination with key staff at the partner and end user to see the project through to satisfactory completion and sign-off.

Teaming and collaboration Skills:
You will work within the Business Development team, and interface with the End User Sales, Product Development and Support teams within Platform, and the ability to collaborate across teams, functions, borders and time-zones is mandatory.

Self Development:
Ability to probe, research and learn independently, with an attitude towards developing your own knowledge and skills in order to further the capabilities Platform can provide.
